Joining our Vietnam motorbike tours to Sapa, you can ride or trek to one of the most beautiful villages here: Ta Van village.
Ta Van is located in Lao Cai province, just about 7 km from the Sapa town. This is a small village set within a picturesque valley Muong Hoa. It is the home of 3 different ethnic hill tribes: H’mong(nearly 45%), Giay (35%) and Dao people (20%).
This village is normally a combination in the visit to Lao chai village on the trek to Muong Hoa valley. It is also a popular stop for those who would like to experience an overnight home-stay with a family of Giay people here, sharing dinner with them as a member of their family.
In most of our Vietnam dirt bike tours, our customers booking our motorcycle tours Vietnam have 1 night in Sapa and 1 night experience home-stay. Sure, you will be much impressed with the magnificent landscape of the place with ancient rock fields, springs and terrace fields. To reach the village, you have to cross the bridge over Muong Hoa spring. The houses of the local here all made of wood including three compartments: the middle one is used to place altar and to welcome guests, the right-side one is for the owners and the left one is kitchen with a garret to store food. In the middle of door, there is red amulet with yellow paper and a sentence in ancient Vietnamese script to prevent devil spirits.
To attract more tourists to come to visit Ta Van, the local authorities via community-based tourism project invest money to build various spacious guesthouses to serve only travelers. However, tourists come here do not want to spend their time in the guesthouse, they prefer to stay at the houses of the local people.
Not only the accommodation but other parts of the villages are developed
and modified to become a professional place for tourism purposes. A
team of about 30 local artists perform special dances, singing or
playing instruments. Traditional craft is another great example here,
where travelers are able to witness how tools or handicrafts are made
with introduction of local craftsmen. Traditional festivals are
resurrected and preserved, which provide travelers for Vietnam motorcycle travel with opportunities to
understand more about the diverse culture of minor communities here,
particularly Giay people.
